Planning & FAQ

Useful answers before you request a tour.

Private tours are easy to request, but a few details help us plan realistically: date, time, group size, interests, pace, arrival point, and any practical needs.

What is the minimum tour length?

A couple of hours works for a focused introduction. Longer visits allow more conversation, a calmer pace, and possible extensions beyond the city center.

How many guests can join?

Gothenburg Tours is not a bus-tour operation. Private tours work best with smaller groups, and most tours are planned for up to six guests, excluding children. Larger groups can sometimes be arranged and will be quoted separately.

Do I need to know what I want to see?

No. You do not need to know Gothenburg. It is enough to tell us what you like, what you usually avoid, how much time you have, and what kind of day would feel worthwhile.

Can you arrange transport or a boat?

Walking, public transport, ferries and taxis are usually straightforward. Luxury sedans or vans can be requested and quoted. Private boats may be possible, but they depend on timing, season, weather and supplier availability.

Are entrance fees, meals and transport included?

Entrance fees and transport are included only if clearly stated in the quotation or booking confirmation. Meals are usually paid directly by guests, since preferences vary widely, from water at lunch to champagne. Meals can be included only when specifically requested and confirmed in the quotation.

What about cruise guests?

Cruise tours are planned around the ship schedule, port location, and safe return timing. Please send the ship name, arrival time, and departure time.

What happens if the weather changes?

Routes can often be adjusted. Gothenburg weather is part of local life, and a private tour allows more flexibility than a fixed group itinerary.

Can you accommodate mobility needs?

Yes. Accessibility matters, and Gothenburg Tours has experience working with guests with mobility needs, including collaboration with a travel company dedicated to accessible travel. Please mention mobility considerations early so the route, pace, surfaces, transport and timing can be planned with care.

Are LGBTQI guests and solo women welcome?

Yes. Guests should be able to enjoy Gothenburg without having to explain or defend who they are. LGBTQI guests, solo women, families of all kinds and guests with personal safety or comfort concerns are welcome, and the visit can be planned with that in mind.

Which languages are available?

Tours are available in English, German or Swedish. Please mention your preferred language when requesting.

How are prices handled?

All prices are quoted individually based on time, scope, and any requested third-party arrangements. Payment can be made by credit card or wire transfer.

How do I request a tour?

Send your date, available time, number of guests, arrival point, and interests. We will respond with a tailored suggestion or questions if something important is missing.

Ready to request?

Send the basics. The route can follow.

Date, time, group size, and interests are enough to start a useful conversation.
